Hi I’m Zan, passionate about bringing change to the current education system and the way we think about education as a whole.

I started this blog because I realised a lot of parents want to homeschool or home educate, or want to support their children with mainstream schooling, but lack the support and resources they need to make the experience as joyful and beneficial as possible.

I have worked in education for over 15 years in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of students and am currently (finally!) working towards a teaching qualification.

Its clear that a one size fits all approach does not work.

Its also clear that we need more play for young children and more problem solving, exploration and project based learning for older children.

I write about these topics in my blog in the hope that it inspires parents and educators to try new things with their children and students and to realise that the learning experience should be tailored to each child’s needs. I’m aware that’s not easy!

But this is why we need a community and village when educating our children.

Through this blog I am hoping we can build a connected community of parents and educators who are willing to learn and try new things and to respond to the needs of our children and students in the best possible way.

When I am not blogging I work as a maths tutor which I absolutely love, I enjoy spending time with my own family and navigating our homeschooling journey, reading, writing, walking and eating out – all whilst generally dodging as much housework and cooking as possible!
